Documentation & Video Editing: Yoli

Pace was a video project created from documentation recorded of Yoli’s body in the aftermath of a private ritual for the rising sun. In the ritual, Yoli moved for the rising sun, touching and moving clay across their body as a way to transfer the essence & energetic imprint of the moment and ritual into a physical form. This small piece of clay was later scaled up and cast in aluminum, titled Talisman for the Rising Sun. The documentation captures the body’s breathe and the ephemera of the ritual left on Yoli’s body; both expressions as alive, intangible, and concrete as the other.
